instead of noodles in black bean sauce or spicy seafood noodle soup

Chinese-style dumpling restaurant Suwon is located inside the alley where the Chicken Street starts across the Temporary Palace of Hwaseong Fortress. It is not seen at all from the main road, but when asked about the way to the restaurant, most Suwon citizens answer, "Ah! The restaurant run by a Chinese! I know where it is." This restaurant has been there for over 40 years.

These days, many Chinese restaurants owned by Chinese people also serve noodles in black bean sauce and spicy seafood noodle soup, which are localized Chinese dishes. But the menu of this restaurant does not include these two dishes. Instead, what every diner does not miss ordering is fried dumplings, which have been often provided for free in many delivery restaurants. However, the homemade fried dumplings of the restaurant are worth paying money to try. Ten dumplings are served per order and as they are often attached to each other, you need to separate them using your chopsticks. The dumplings are brownish and crispy outside but when separated, the sides on which they were attached to each other are white and moist. The filling made with finely ground meat and chopped chives rich in juice and crispy skin create a harmonious blend of tastes.

As a dish to eat with dumplings, beef noodle soup can be a good choice. The clear soup with abundant vegetables such as cabbage and Pak Choi that tastes spicy is a delicacy hardly found in other Chinese restaurants in Korea. The restaurant Suwon also provides Sichuan noodles that are mostly served in luxurious restaurants at an affordable price. The name of the restaurant "Suwon" uses different Chinese characters from those of the city name "Suwon."

In the city, there are other famous Chinese restaurants opened by the first generation of Chinese immigrants and run until today such as Manbinwon, Yeonghwaru and Godeungbanjeom.
