Menu filled with new attempts, hard to decide

The name of the restaurant comes from Fillmore Street in San Francisco. Like the restaurant the owner found on Fillmore Street during his trip to the US, he named his restaurant to be a place where people can comfortably mingle with one another and enjoy meals in a happy mood.



Because it does not have any sign, I realized it is a restaurant only when I saw its terrace seats. Once you enter through the door, a space that used to be a small office is now a hallway leading visitors to the inside. The interior has been decorated moderately with wooden tables and chairs that exude a heartwarming atmosphere.



Any employee at Fillmore can participate in development of menus and, if needed, go on trips to recharge his/her inspirations, which is partly why Fillmore’s menu is full of dishes that stimulate one’s curiosity. Ducks, black pork, rockfish, snappers, and other unusual ingredients come together to become a new-breed cuisine. As seasons change, special menus that utilize seasonal ingredients are also offered.



Meanwhile, its crude but flavor-multiplying plating is impressive.


Potato mousse, creamed spinach and green mustard are perfect as garnish for thickly cut chuck flap tail steak. Small Plate Asparagus seems to have indifferently placed prosciutto, Reggiano cheese, poached egg, etc. but it guarantees great taste. A list of wines to go along with the food is also available. It would be fun to find Mariage of a simple small plate and a drink that matches well with it.



Larger tables are used as shared seats. For those of you who do not feel comfortable eating next to strangers, I recommend you to make a reservation or visit when it is not so crowded.
