Personal touches everywhere

A particularly cool-looking doorplate catches my eye. Written by Mr. No Jeong, a renowned calligrapher, himself, it shows the name of the establishment, which used to be a calligraphy exhibition hall in the past and has now reborn as an Italian restaurant named Mukhyang. Upon entering Mukhyang, the first item that grabs my attention is Mr. No’s amazing calligraphy hung on the wall. His passion forms a great harmony with the wooden interior of Mukhyang.

All dishes at Mukhyang go through the hands of the chef from start to finish. Every morning, he kneads pizza dough and raw noodles himself and also makes Ricotta cheese, which is used in salads and pizza, through fermentation on his own as well. Noodles and dough made by hands, not a machine, not only are easily digested but also present a great texture. Rooibos tea is provided instead of water and, because cooking begins only after orders are placed, it may take a while for them to arrive at your table but the food is presented at an ideal temperature.

One of the notable dishes at Mukhyang is Blueberry Ricotta Cheese Pizza baked in a brazier. The combination of sweet blueberries and salty Ricotta cheese is undoubtedly the best. Under each pizza plate, a small candle is placed to maintain the temperature of the pizza even if you decide to sit for a while at the meal table.

Vongole Pasta with a delicate scent of basil is cooked with red chili peppers, which gives a bit spicy but simple flavor. The dish you have to order along with a pizza or pasta is a salad. A bowl of fresh vegetables and tomatoes with added Ricotta cheese suddenly becomes a main dish. Lemon honey and lime honey used for mojitos are also produced here,

and mojitos may be chosen as alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Mukhyang is operated by reservations, and dining in requires a reservation in advance.
