Yongin_Four children play facilities in Yongin
Hard to pick one over another: Four main amusement facilities in Yongin
Yongin has been a weekend destination for Koreans since the 1970s. With the opening of Yongin Folk Village (Korean Folk Village) and Yongin Farmland (current Everland) in 1974 and 1976, respectively, these areas have found their place as a destination for family outings. The replica folk village from the Joseon Dynasty was a brand new attraction, and the safari tour created a sensation at that time with lions and tigers that could be seen from the car. The children who visited Yongin holding their parents' hands back then have now become parents themselves, and travel to Yongin with their children.
In addition to the well-known attractions such as the Gyeonggi Children's Museum, Korean Folk Village, and Everland, there are many plenty of places to visit with your children near Singal IC. The J One Kids Cafe is a favorite place for parents who want to spend time with their children while taking a break, as it has ample staff to look after children in each area. Another advantage is the seasonal outdoor playing facilities, such as a swimming pool and sledding slope. Meanwhile, Cocomong Eco Park and Dinostar, which are amusement parks with the themes of children's favorite animation characters and dinosaurs and located in the Gogiri Valley, are preferred by young children for rides and facilities designed especially for them. Nevertheless the ‘world of dreams and fantasy’ in Everland is still the top amusement park destination for children in Korea.
