Four different unique experiences at Hwaseong Fortress

Have you ever dreamed of flying in a hot air balloon? That dream will come true at Hwaseong Fortress. In front of Changnyongmun Gate, you can ride in a hot air balloon and go up to an altitude of 150 meters at which you can see the entire fortress at a glance. Hwaseong Fortress Tourist Trolley that tours the ramparts is a purple car renovated from the limousine that King Sunjong used. It is so popular that you can barely get a ticket on weekends. There is a traditional archery experience program at Yeonmudae Post. You can also strike Hyowon Bell on the top of Paldalsan Mountain.

Around the Temporary Palace, various cultural performances are held. In front of Sinpungnu Gate Pavilion, you can view the "24 Kinds of Martial Arts" performance at 11 o'clock every day (except Mondays). Every Saturday (from April to October), "Nakseongyeon," a feast granted by King Jeongjo to comfort workers who participated in the fortress construction, is reenacted.
