Cakes from the fairy tale
Is it really okay to eat all these cakes?
Cakes from the fairy tale world that attract you
"Eat me!" The cake that Alice ate in Wonderland might have looked like this. Mint, pink, yellow, and even green. The cakes of Romantic Standard seem to belong to the world of fairy tales where unicorns live, not the human world. The cakes in the transparent showcase have the same colors as the pastel decorative dolls on them.
Unlike ordinary food, these colorful cakes seem to tempt us saying, "eat me." I take a bite of the chocolate banana cake in the same color with the skirt that Alice was wearing in Walt Disney's animated film. It tastes, against my expectations, not very sweet but features a pleasant and soft combination of chocolate and bananas. People are busy taking photographs, attracted by the adorable colors and shapes of the fancy cakes, but after tasting it, they cannot let their forks out of their hands. Yes, cakes are the food that exists for fantasy.
Romantic Standard opened in July 2016. For a short period of about a year, it became a famous dessert cafe favored by not only Ansan citizens but also the residents of the surrounding areas. There are many people visiting the store several times a week because it displays different cakes every day.
It is recommended to place your cake order early since it usually takes weeks to get it due to many orders. The café opens four days a week, from Thursdays to Sundays.
