Relaxation found while strolling through the garden

I walk slowly and look around the surroundings.

Once the senses that had been inadvertently neglected are stimulated, I begin to see things that I could not see in the past. The warmth of sunlight shone through tree leaves, coolness of a shadow offered by a tall tree, and comfort of green grass that gently wraps my feet are elements that have been ordinary during a stroll. This is a time when I can discover newfound gratitude in such everyday things and take a look around me.

Though a stroll can be conducted anywhere anytime by the unique method of each individual, one through a tranquil forest path in the nature especially helps recover energy for a body that has been fatigued from the city life. Byeokchoji Culture Arboretum, where more than 1,400 kinds of flowers and trees breathe out fresh air, is a great place to walk while soothing your body and soul in the midst of nature.

From Korean and European-style garden to a pond filled with willows and a broad grass plaza surrounded by tree, many scenes grab your feet and, naturally, you get to relax and enjoy the landscape. Having frequently appeared in movies and dramas for scenes in which main characters confess their love for each other, the location boasts beautiful scenery in numerous places.

Also, different festivals are held throughout the year as colorful flowers such as tulips, poppies, dahlias and camellias flood the garden from one season to the next. A million tulips present a grand sight in April and May and bulb flowers exude rich scents in summer while chrysanthemum and maple leaves can be encountered during the fall season. In the wintertime from November to March, you may enjoy the brilliant, colorful lights that fill the entire garden at the Lighting Festival until late at night.
