Distribution of educational materials at Nam June Paik Art Center 《NJP School》

GyeonGi Cultural Foundation Nam June Paik Art Center (Director Seong-Kim Kim) distributes educational materials to improve cultural and art education opportunities for students who have difficulty visiting the museum due to COVIS-19. Nam June Paik Art Center, which is contemplating the role and education that art museums can contribute to the local community in the post-corona era, aims to communicate with teachers and students by creating educational guidance plans as part of the Gyeonggi Cultural New Deal. We look forward to giving students the joy of creativity and creativity in this time when creative thinking is needed more than ever. We also hope that teachers and students will use these materials to share ideas, empathize, and participate in art.

The educational materials distributed are the Nam June Paik Art Center's educational programs for elementary, middle and high school students and students with disabilities, <Nam June Paik's Letters-Music>, <Nam June Paik's Letters-Time and Space>, <Waggle Waggle Performance Group>, and <If you collect all the pieces>. It was designed so that the teachers can directly proceed with the children. The textbook is composed of teaching and learning guidance, audiovisual materials, scripts, activity sheets, and creative materials. You can apply for one of the four 《NJP Schools》 programs held by Nam June Paik Art Center, and if you apply by July, you can receive the materials by mail. Applications can be downloaded from the Nam June Paik Art Center website (www.njpartcenter.kr), filled out, and submitted to edu@njpartcenter.kr.

The program consists of <Nam June Paik's Letters-Music>, <Nam June Paik's Letters-Time and Space>, <Waggle Waggle Performance Group>, and <If you collect all the pieces>, which were held at the Nam June Paik Art Center for student groups.

<Nam June Paik's Letters> is a form of reading a letter from Nam June Paik with students, and explores Nam June Paik's art world by subject to understand the artist Nam June Paik and expand his artistic experience. <Nam June Paik's Letter-Music> explores Nam June Paik with a focus on the theme of “music,” visualizing hearing through connected experiential activities, and experiencing the expansion of senses through art. Nam June Paik's Letter-Time and Space focuses on video art, focusing on the subject of 'time and space'. As an experiential activity, I try to create a work that changes the space with friends. It is recommended to educate elementary school students within 40 minutes of class time for <Nam June Paik's Letters .

In conjunction with Nam June Paik's work, <Waggle Waggle Performance Group>, and <If you collect all the pieces> focus on experiences and creative activities using various senses rather than theory. Existing programs for students with disabilities at Nam June Paik Art Center are extended to lower grades of elementary school to provide materials. <Waggle Waggle Performance Group> is a program where you can experience various sounds outside the sound of existing instruments through Nam June Paik's work, create your own sensory instrument and play it freely. <If you collect all the pieces> examines the way people are expressed through Nam June Paik's work, and expresses friends using the body and various senses on a single screen. It is a program where friends with different appearances and characteristics come together to complete one large collaborative work. These creative-oriented programs will provide students with an opportunity to develop emotional stability and self-expression through art.

Details of the program and application method can be found on the website (www.njpartcenter.kr), and many interested persons are requested. For more information, please visit the Nam June Paik Art Center’s website.
