○ Sungyong Park: This is the time for ‘Gyeong Gi Culture' , which quickly conveys the cultural news of Gyeonggi Province. We are together every Friday. Let's meet Reporter Park full of bright energy. Hello. Reporter Park.

▶ Suyoung Park: Hello. This is Suyoung Park, a ‘Culture News Messenger’ that quickly delivers cultural news such as various exhibitions and performances in Gyeonggi-do. Today, I would like to introduce you to COVID-19 because there is an exhibition that has been closed after 4 days of opening and can be met again from this month.

○ Sungyong Park: If it is an exhibition that you can meet again, would it have been reopened this time?

▶ Suyoung Park: That's right. From April 7th, Goyang Aram Nuri Aram Art Museum opened again. This ‘French Modern Exhibition', where you can see world-class masterpieces from Impressionism to Beasts, has been reopened on an advance reservation basis. I'll hear from Curator Eon-Jung Kim what it is.

[Interview/Curator Kim Eon-jung]

“This exhibition shows European modernist art from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century. You can see the familiar impressionism and works from the postwar period. It exhibits 59 works by about 45 artists, including Monet, Cezanne, and Matisse. “

▶ Suyoung Park: By collaborating with the Brooklyn Museum of Art, which opened the first impressionist exhibition in the United States, you can see international modernist art from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century in France.

○ Sungyong Park: I'm expecting a hot interest. But it's still time to keep social distancing, and I'm worried that there will be a lot of people. It is a closed space, so if an infection occurs, a group infection may occur.

▶ Suyoung Park: That's right. So, this visit is under strict control. First of all, we are practicing social distancing of visitors by limiting the number of visitors by time slot through pre-order online. Advance reservations are made every 30 minutes from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, and the number of people is limited to 30. Aram Museum of Art's various efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 I will hear from Manager Chae-kyung Chung.

“As the current Aram Museum of Art is not in a situation where the spread of COVID-19 has completely ended, the reopening of the museum is under strict control. The number of visitors is limited by time zone by receiving pre-registration via the Internet and the main phone, and visitors must fill out a questionnaire after disinfection and heat check, and wear a mask before viewing. In order to block the possibility of group infection that may occur in an enclosed space, we do not allow group viewing with an interval of 2m and docent, a commentator.”

○ Sungyong Park: I'm used to pre-booking musicals and plays, but it's a little awkward to pre-book art exhibitions. I think it was the first time I heard it.

▶ Suyoung Park: I also saw it for the first time this time. It is said that the number of visitors is checked by pre-ordering and prepared for any unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, we do not make same-day reservations or on-site reservations.

○ Sungyong Park: Then, if I visit the site without prior reservation the day before, can I not see the exhibition?

▶ Suyoung Park: Yes, it is. But for safety, it is essential to check the number of people on site. There are a lot of good things about limiting the number of visitors by time slot with advance reservation. Let’s see what it was like through the story of Dahee Kim and Kwanhee Lee who appear at the exhibition.

[Interview/ Dahee Kim, Kwanhee Lee]

“I thought that it was good to focus and appreciate people at a distance in a spacious space, but exhibitions like this are always popular. I was disappointed to think that waiting in line and looking like a market box would interfere with the viewing, but this time I liked it. To make a reservation and see (in advance) itself.” “The fun thing because of the corona was that it didn’t put a lot of people, so I was able to enjoy it comfortably. It’s very spacious slowly.”

○ Sungyong Park: If you think about it, I have never seen a really famous exhibition because there were so many crowds. When I visited the exhibition once, there were so many people that I was also very tired.

▶ Suyoung Park: That's right. There are long lines of people, so you have to keep moving forward and forward at a constant speed. However, it was nice to be able to enjoy this exhibition at my own pace.

○ Sungyong Park: Reporter Park has been healing properly. There are so many different writers, how are they organized?

▶ Suyoung Park: This exhibition is divided into four sections: Landscape, Still Life, Portrait, and Nude. It was nice to be able to understand how modernism changed in each genre and the overall flow. I will hear from Curator Eon-Jung Kim what it would be good to focus on this exhibition.

Interview/ Curator Eon-Jung Kim]

“The time from naturalism to the appearance of abstraction was a turning point in art history. It is worth noting that you can look at the process of change in this transition period. The exhibition structure is divided into four representative art genres: landscape, still life, portrait, and nude. This distinction is also a distinction that shows the major genres of Western art. It is fun to compare the differences and similarities between artists within a genre.”

○ Sungyong Park: It is good to check out works with famous artists, but it would be nice to focus on the process of changing early contemporary art and appreciate the exhibition.

▶ Suyoung Park: That's right. I watched exhibitions related to impressionism before, but at that time, I focused on works by famous artists. However, it was new when I focused on the overall flow.

○ Sungyong Park: Right. Then, until when will the exhibition be held?

▶ Suyoung Park: This exhibition will be held until Sunday, June 14 at Aram Art Museum in Goyang Aram Nuri. Please note that the admission fee is 10,000 won for adults, 8,000 won for teenagers and children, and 50% discount for Goyang citizens. The day I visited came from a wide range of age groups, including families, couples, and couples with children. It is said that more and more people visit the exhibition.

[Interview/ People of various ages]

“I think my mom followed me.”/“I couldn't go out on the weekends, but I saw the article and knew it.” “I was walking around and I saw a big billboard. ...I hope there will be such a big exhibition in Goyang City in the future, and I plan to participate eagerly.” /“I didn’t know we had to make a reservation, so I gave up once and went back.. I must see this!”

○ Sungyong Park: Isn't it a couple who said it was nice to be able to enjoy the exhibition in a leisurely manner? Did you visit without reservation and just went back?

▶ Suyoung Park: Yes, if you visit without a reservation like this, you cannot enter, so you have no choice but to return. You can make a reservation in advance by using the advance reservation page on the website of the Goyang Cultural Foundation by 6 o'clock the day before. I will hear from the manager Chaekyung Chung for more details.

[Interview/ Manager Chaekyung Jung]

“Advance reservations are available on the website of the Goyang Cultural Foundation and on the main phone number 1577-7766 or 031-960-0180, and reservations can be made until 6pm one day before the viewing date. Reservations and payments are not possible on the spot (same day), and you can check the number of people who can make reservations by viewing time on the website's advance reservation page.”

○ Sungyong Park: The Goyang Cultural Foundation ‘French Modern Dungeon', which runs until June 14th, is currently not making reservations or on-site reservations for COVID-19. If you want to visit, definitely! Please make advance reservations through the Goyang Cultural Foundation's website or phone before visiting.

▶ Suyoung Park: If you are not currently wearing a mask, you must restrict entry to the exhibition hall and maintain a safe distance of at least 2m. There are no exceptions even if it is the party that we visited at this time. I think it would be nice if you visit with the idea of ‘to take time to concentrate on the exhibition alone.‘
