Fresh breads and specialty coffee baked and brewed anew every day

There are many delicious eateries along the trail near Seooreung Royal Tombs’ walls and, on every weekend, mouth-watering smells fill the street. The menus are diverse as well to grab the appetite of the tourists, from galbi or ribs, everyone’s favorite dining-out menu, to universally loved chicken and pork cutlet, which is also great for a hearty meal.

Then there is also a place that ceaselessly exudes smells of baking bread on tourist-less weekdays and crowded weekends alike, rain or shine. Gyeongseong Bread Factory is a bakery recognized by the locals as even residents who live nearby visit for fresh breads. As a hybrid of a bakery and a café, it presents an assortment of breads freshly baked every day and specialty coffee brewed with beans roasted by the barista.

Each morning of Gyeongseong Bread Factory begins with a good smell of hot breads, freshly baked in the bakery on one side of the café, that immediately go on the display stand, ready to greet customers. Different kinds of coffee that go along well with the bread can also be tasted at the café. Known for its smooth texture and clean aftertaste, Heidi Blending Coffee forms an especially great harmony with any type of bread.

Though there are many different kinds of appealing breads, from plain bread and roll cakes to pies, tarts and scones, that make it difficult for a bread lover to make a decision on what to buy, best menus do exist here as well. I recommend Cream Soboro that abundantly fills a streusel-type bread with fresh cream, sweet and brisk Orange Brioche with ground fresh oranges, and the healthy, trans fat-less Cranberry Pecan rye bread made without sugar or butter.
