GREENSENSE is the oldest restaurant in Heyri. It has been there since 2004 in the early days of artists’ settlement in Heyri, and continued to be loved by many who visit the town. From writers and TV personalities to people of political and financial spheres, a wide spectrum of people stops by the restaurant when they visit Heyri.

GREENSENSE is located just in front of the bridge that leads to Reed Plaza, the center of the village. The walls finished with reddish exposed concrete exude a unique vibe and form a great harmony with the surrounding scenery of mountains. The building is the work of Kim Jong-gyu, an architect, and was constructed according to the intent of Heyri Village, which is not to harm the mountains and forests. A building that looks leaning onto the natural topography adds a terrace space from which the path to the forest and the landscape may be viewed. From the terrace, the scenery of tranquil Heyri is seen and, at the indoor space featuring large windows, the forest that wears different colors each season may be enjoyed over a nice meal.

GREENSENSE is actually a complex cultural space. On the 1st floor, there is a wine shop and a gallery while the 2nd floor is an Italian restaurant. Occasionally, exhibits of new artists are held on the 1st floor where a diverse list of wines imported from many different countries are also available for purchase. Thus, when you dine at the restaurant, you may personally choose wine at the wine shop other than those already on the list at the restaurant. Because the spectrum of selection is wide from casual table wine to high-quality premium wine, you can also receive a recommendation on wine that suits the occasion or food you order.

While steaks, risotto, and pizza dishes are popular, GREENSENSE is especially known for its pasta. From Vongole Pasta flavored with garlic and Manila clams and spicy Nurungji Pasta to Green Pasta with rich crab meat flavor, you will not fail with any of their pasta offered here so you can choose any that suits your taste.
