The new integrated brand (MI) of GyeongGi Province Museum

Created ‘MI’ reflecting the identity of the museum representing Gyeonggi-do

The new integrated brand (MI) of GyeongGi Province Museum

Gyeonggi Museum Park • GyeongGi Provincial Museum of the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation released a new integrated brand image (MI: Museum Identity) on February 17th. This recreation of MI was made to enable new start for the GyeongGi Provincial Museum, alongside the revitalization of Gyeonggi Museum Park and the grand re-opening of the museum exhibition in August 2020.

The new MI represents the identity of space representing Gyeonggi-do by using ‘ㄱㄱㄷ’, the initials of Gyeonggi-do in Korean, on a blue color, which symbolizes the province. In particular, the open expression of ‘ㄷ’ reveals the attitude of GyeongGi Provincial Museum, which prioritizes communication in our changing times. The overall form is the shape of an 'open door' through the 'M' in 'Museum'. This symbolizes a new gateway to the future, based on the history of Gyeonggi-do, and means the “open space” of Gyeonggi-do, connected as one.

The new MI will be used as an integrated brand image uniting Gyeonggi Museum Park and GyeongGi Provincial Museum. By using the same symbol mark, both the museum park and the provincial museum aim to become a familiar and unifying space for Gyeonggi residents who visit them.

Beginning with the release of the new MI, which will be completely replaced in 24 years, the GyeongGi Provincial Museum plans become public for Gyeonggi residents this summer with new, exciting exhibitions and educational experience programs (to reopen in August 2020). The new MI of Gyeonggi Museum Park and GyeongGi Provincial Museum can be downloaded from the museum website.
