- Orchestra education to lecture and perform in an ‘untact’ form -
The Bucheon Cultural Foundation (“the foundation”) will conduct an orchestra education for local children and adolescents in a non-face-to-face form. “Amazing Orchestra”, the 10th children and adolescent orchestra by Bucheon Cultural Foundation, has been sending music education videos to over 100 members since the 25th. In the video, the orchestra music director and instructor appear in person to explain the performance techniques and meanings of each piece. The foundation sends this to members every week and checks their attendance/participation in the class by using a mobile messenger.
We also carry out a project called “Random Performance Challenge”, in which all members take a video playing the same piece and edit it to perform them together without having physical contact. This is to make a non-face-to-face form of a concert to replace those that are temporarily suspended because of ‘social and physical distancing.’ The instructors also created an untact ensemble video and expressed their intention to present it to the citizens under the name “Amazing Concert in a Room Corner”.
Children and adolescent members familiar with mobile environments responded that 'Online culture and art education' is interesting. Orchestra member Yoon-seo Hong (13) said, "It is new and fun. I want to reunite with all other members soon in healthy conditions.” Music Director Myung Kwon expressed his opinion by saying, “Culture and art education through videos are awkward, but also fresh. I feel we have taken a step closer to future culture and art education.” He added, "We were able to confirm our passion for music through the real-time inquiries by the members."
The foundation guarantees opportunities for child and adolescent participants to learn through online education as well as opportunities for instructors to teach the participants.
